HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH SERVICE

HELP US seRVE Boston’s most vulnerable populations

THE  BC  FOOT  CLINIC

Bridging a Critical Gap in Services For The Unhoused.

Why Foot Clinics?

Unhoused individuals in Boston face acute foot health issues, with many affected by fungal infections from communal showers, bacterial infections from wounds, and diabetic foot ulcers due to nerve damage.

At the same time, the relationship between traditional healthcare institutions and unhoused individuals is often fraught, leading these foot issues to go unaddressed.

Foot clinics provide an intermediate setting where unhoused individuals feel comfortable receiving critical care.

Our Approach

We believe that healthcare for unhoused populations should be dignified, relationship-centered, and trauma-informed.

At the core of our model is the foot soak, where we invite our guests to soak their feet in warm, soapy water.

The foot soak provides comfort, allows for foot inspections, and most importantly, is a setting where our volunteers develop meaningful relationships with our guests, fostering understanding and providing a place of real human connection.
